There's no place like home for the holidays, so the song goes. But what are your plans for Christmas?
We've spent Christmas in Montreal for the past several years (we seemed to have a newborn baby every year as our excuse for staying home for a good while there!), but this year we are traveling to Ontario to visit our family there on the 26th.
Because of church commitments, we will still be here for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which means a lot to me! I love this city, our home, and our own special traditions, just us five, so I'm glad we can manage to spend meaningful time with extended family but also have this time just us.
On Boxing Day morning, we're driving to southern Ontario to spend a few days with family, including my baby niece Addison (and our newest cousin, scheduled to arrive in the Spring!). Last Christmas my sister and brother-in-law visited us with my parents a couple of weeks before Christmas and they stayed in an Airbnb nearby. We did Boys v. Girls gingerbread contests and ate way too much delicious food. Lisa was pregnant then with Addie, and now she is again! Talk about the best gift ever, right?!
After being in Niagara with my family, we're heading out to Wasaga Beach to celebrate with Brad's mom, her husband, his kids, and Brad's and brothers. There will be TWELVE of us in total so we've rented a cozy house by the beach that can accommodate such a big party. Once we're back in Montreal for the new year we'll do the same with Brad's Dad, his wife and the brothers again. Our Airbnb in Montreal is actually right near our house, so it'll be fun and easy. Last year our Airbnb in Montreal was actually just off the Island in a picturesque town, and the year before it was right downtown and has the coolest decor and even a Christmas tree up, ready for us!
We always book Airbnbs when we get together with the whole family. With our family of five and Brad's brothers plus their partners, it's the only way to sleep everyone under the same roof for the holidays. If you've never booked with Airbnb before, use this link to save $50 off your first rental! Totally not a sponsored post, just sharing the love!
