Hi, there! My name is Suian, but most know me
as Su.
I am the wife of a wonderful pilot and a stay-at-home mom to
three beautiful children: Rachael, 9 years old, David, 2 years old, and
our precious Victoria Rose, who is already 4 months old. Where did the
time go?!
No two days are the same in our
home, but we do like to keep a routine. Typically, we wake up around
6:30am and start moving right away. I like to make sure things are done
for our mornings the night before, so that we are not rushed. As soon
as we are up, I will tend to both babies while my husband helps our
oldest daughter get ready for her day. He will then take her to school
and come back home – and right now, that is when our day really starts.
We recently just bought a new house
for us to remodel. Given that it is a fixer-upper, it requires a lot of
our time and needs a big chunk of loving. Although my husband is a
pilot, he is also a very handy man, and he is just about to finish
remodeling
our entire kitchen on his own. This included changing walls and
floors, plumbing and electricity work, removing old cabinets and
replacing them with new ones, and also building an entire kitchen island
with his own two hands.
While he works hard daily to finish
the remodel of our dreams, a task that we have come to embrace, I chase
babies around and attempt to tackle the good ol’ daily chores. While
David explores every little corner of our newly acquired home by running
around, Victoria takes in every bit of this entire new world with her
curious eyes as she attempts to learn to crawl away. As all of this
happens around me, I try to capture every moment and store it in my
memory, and from time to time I am also able to capture these precious times that constantly fly by with my camera. These moments only
become more precious when Rachael arrives home from school in the
afternoon, and what we consider to be our perfect picture, is complete.
I like to think of us as your
not-so-typical family. We are a spontaneous bunch that will put on dance
shows during random times of the day, laugh as hard as we can, and
always dream together. As we attempt to carry on with our daily routine,
we will usually have supper early in the evening while we talk about
our day around the table. Later, we clean up while jamming to some good
gospel music together, get the kids to take their baths, and do a little
devotion. We take sleeping very seriously
around here, so the kids must be tucked into their beds no later than
9pm – even though they are not very compliant some times. Once everyone
is in bed and the house is tidy, I get my free time.
We have so much on our plates right
now as we are chasing our dreams, but we are thankful for every bit of
it. This is everything we have ever prayed for, so we truly believe that
this is exactly where we're supposed to be, and to be honest
we wouldn't change a thing.
Leaving you all with a beautiful
quote to live by: "Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere
where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated,
communication is open, and rules are flexible — the kind of atmosphere
that is found in a nurturing family" Virginia Satir
Thank you so much Su!
